Picked up my wheel earlier. I'm quite impressed, I tried the shifter but I don't have anywhere to put it on my stand and a stool wasn't a very good substitute. Will need to see if I can get an adapter for my stand. I do think I like the gear flappy things though.
Managed to flog my PS3 wheel as well today which was handy.

You should be able to use a flat piece of metal to clamp under your current wheel to give an area to the side to clamp the shifter. I did this with my G25. Though I ended up using only the paddles and taking the shifter away. Nice to have it included for the price though.

Here's what I had https://goo.gl/photos/omQAD2xHCBoq2JR77

I actually emailed Wheel Stand Pro who make the stand I have asking if they have anything suitable. They replied saying they do an upgrade which consists of a bigger wheel plate, a gear shifter plate and a suitable pedals support for 34 EUR (which includes postage). Worked out at £29.58 via Paypal. Lord knows when it will arrive with it having to come from mainland Europe during the Xmas period, but it's far cheaper than getting a whole new stand (which was £95).
I've also just bought Project Cars from the PS store through the BOGOF deal as well. Think I'm all set to resurrect my driving career :0)

The one in the photo is a wheelstand pro one, you'll get something similar I expect. Project cars works really well with the wheel, I've been having a blast with it, much better than a pad.

Finally got a release date for this:
I’m extremely excited to confirm that Gran Turismo Sport will be launching on October 18th across Europe this year. Following the successful completion of our Closed BETA phase, as announced earlier this week, we are now entering the final stages of polishing as we prepare for launch.

Between now and launch you can expect to hear a lot more from the GT team, as we unveil more information on the many features included in Gran Turismo Sport, including the campaign mode, various creative tools, as well as a full reveal on all the cars and tracks you can look forward to racing on launch day!

IGN & Gamespot previews:

Seems they are fully embracing online racing as the main focus with GTSport as the so called Campaign mode now is basically what would have been the Licence Test in the previous games in order to kinda train and prepare you for online racing.

After playing the demo, I'm not convinced to buy the game. Online racing so far hasn't been the most fun, having to wait for specific times and only specific cars & tracks. Single player AI racers are just custom races. No progression of a single player campaign.

It's a pretty looking game, I'll probably pick it up on sale/pre-owned.
